Variante FS/**
Ferdinand VII (1808-1833). 8 reales. 1821. Guadalajara. FS/**. (Cal-1210 var). . 26,93 g. Similar to the specimen auctioned by Briggs & Bustos (08/09/2025), lot 208, where the following was noted; A largely unknown variety featuring a curious detail: stars beneath the assayer’s initials FS. It is likely an early striking, as the shield displays elements—such as the crown and columns—of a design virtually identical to that seen on pieces dated 1818. Minimal adjustment marks and small handling marks. Soft patina with traces of original luster. Very rare, and even more so in this preservation. Choice VF/Almost XF. Est...1500,00.

8 reales Sombrerete
Ferdinand VII (1808-1833). 8 reales. 1812. Sombrerete de Vargas. (Cal-1427). . 26,27 g. The shield is well defined, while the obverse legend exhibits some weakness of strike, with the letters (SOM)BRET(E) partially visible. It displays the usual adjustment marks, though less pronounced than in most examples of this issue. Nearly complete colonial edge. Nice cabinet tone. Rare. Choice VF. Est...2500,00.
