Very well-centered struck with all details perfectly visible, with only a slight minting void affecting part of the crown and the end of the reverse legend. Dark patina with slight roughness on its surface.
This is an outstanding specimen of one of the most challenging Reales in the entire Spanish colonial series, of which only a few are known, most of them bearing defects or corrosion and rarely available at auction.
This type corresponds to variant 9 from the study by Cori Sedwick and Isaac Rudman on The Silver Coinage of Juana and Charles of Santo Domingo, presented at the latest Convention of Historians and Numismatists held in Santo Domingo in 2023.
