Nasrid of Granada. Anonymous. 1/4 dirham. Gharnata (Granada). (Vives-2205/6). (Hohertz-Unlisted). . 0,54 g. A very interesting example. Its base is a 1/2 Dirham, trimmed and lightened to a weight of 0.56g, so we opted for a 1/4 Dirham. On its reverse, it bears a countermark (ط for طيب) "Good," which was probably applied in North Africa by the Merinids, legitimizing the quality of their silver for free circulation within their domains. Hohertz mentions several countermarked examples, however, we have not found any references to this countermark on these or other types. Very rare. Almost VF. Est...200,00.
