Portugal. Portugal crowned arms countermark ND (1834), applied to the obverse of an 1811-HJ 8 reales struck in Mexico under the reign of Ferdinand VII, for circulation as 870 reis.

The countermark is deep and fully detailed. Attractive slightly iridescent toning. Rare.

Slabbed by NGC as VF 35, C/S: UNC Standard.
