Postumus. Double sestertius. 260-269 AD. Lugdunum. (Ric-Type 166). (Elmer-Type 263). (Tesorillo-Póstumo 1, Plate Coin). Anv.: IM(P C M CASS LAT) POSTVMVS P F AG, radiate, draped and cuirassed bust right. Rev.: (VICTORIAE AVG), two Victories attaching a shield to a palm tree; two captives between; Ɔ Ɔ in exergue. Ae. 21,27 g. An interesting contemporary imitation, minted in Gaul or Britain. It was created by reusing a sestertius of Diva Faustina and stuck over it; the bust of Faustina I and part of her inscription are clearly visible on the obverse. Rare.
