Hadrian. Aureus. 134-138 AD. Rome. (Ric-II 3). Anv.: HADRIANVS AVG COS III PP. Bare head and bust draped complete to left. Rev.: AEGYPTOS, Egypt reclining left, holding sistrum, left arm resting on a basket around which a snake coils; ibis standing before. Au. 7,08 g. We have not found other similar specimens at auction, we only have as a reference the specimen exhibited at the American Numismatic Society (ANS), which shares the obverse die with the one we offer. Published in Numista #255962 with a rarity grade of 100. Extremely rare and apparently the second known specimen.
