Caracalla. Unit. 216 AD. Rome. (Ric-IV 1 563). Anv.: ANTONINVS PIVS AVG GERM. Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust to right, with both pteryges visible. Rev.: P M TR P XVIIII COS IIII P P. Sol standing front, head to left, raising his right hand in salute and holding globe in his left; S C across fields. Ae. 11,86 g. This is a variety of the known type (Ric IV 1 563), extremely rare and with some variations of style not found in Ric, which make it unpublished. We have not found any specimens in the Acsearch and Coinarchives databases. Probably the only one known. XF. Est...700,00.
