Constantinus I. Commemorative Series. Follis. 330-331 AD. Barbarous imitation. (Ric-VII 343 / 349). (Tesorillo-Series conm. 13, Plate Coin). Anv.: CONSTANTINOPOLIS, helmeted bust of Constantinople to left, wearing imperial mantle and holding sceptre. Rev.: She-wolf standing to right, head reverted, suckling the twins Romulus and Remus; two stars above, RP(?) in exergue. Ae. 1,52 g. Ex Nether Compton Hoard. This hoard was discovered by Mike Pittard while metal detecting near Nether Compton, Dorset on 19th February 1989. It comprised of 22,670 largely Constantinian coins and was deposited with the Yeovil Museum until 1994, after which it was returned to the finder and sold. Ex Roman lodge, Vcoins (December 2009).
