Philip I. Antoninianus. 245 AD. Rome. (Ric-Unlisted). (C-Unlisted). (Tesorillo-Filipo I 13, Plate Coin). Anv.: IMP M IVL PHILIPPVS AVG. Radiate draped and cuirassed bust right. Rev.: P M TR P II COS P P: Minerva, helmeted, draped, standing left, holding branch in right hand and inverted spear in left hand, foot on helmet. Ag. 4,12 g. Cohen 117 and Ric IV, III 1 refer to a coin with similar characteristics, although they do not mention the inverted spear held by Minerva in her left hand. See Footnote 68, where Ric mentions a variant of this reverse.
Extremely rare and apparently unpublished. We have not found similar examples on the reference websites Acsearch/Coinarchives. Ex Ancient Delights, at the present Mayor 25. Madrid Convention (February 2004)
