The most difficult date!!

Ferdinand VII (1808-1833). 8 reales. 1815. Chihuahua. R(P). (Cal-1166). (Ramírez-C8.5.1). Ag. 24,92 g. First year of the laureate bust and the most difficult piece in the series. Moreover, it is struck over a first-type cast 8 reales from the same mint.

On the host coin, the armored bust, part of the legend, and the validation marks are all discernible with remarkable clarity.

The quality and degree of detail of the crowned Granada countermark between pillars allow the host coin to be attributed to 1811, as on later issues this countermark usually shows a cruder execution and less definition
